This year we started planning my daughter's Strawberry Shortcake birthday party 6 months ago. She knew exactly what she wanted. Her favorite character from the show is the pink cat, custard. So, while she wanted the party to be inspired by Strawberry Shortcake, she really wanted it to be a pink cat birthday party. She also had another request; rhinestones on EVERYTHING. I bedazzled just about anything I could; the forks, the menu cards, just about everything had at least one rhinestone on it!
For the entertainment, I made a strawberry piñata & set up a bean bag toss. We had also in the past, set up a cookie decorating station & it was a huge hit! That's where the kids were the majority of the day. We hired the most talented face painter! She really was not your average face painter; these children's faces looked incredible! Not only were the kids happy, their parents were impressed as well.
The next big task was the birthday girl's cake. She watches Cake Boss & knows her cakes. She wanted a round, 2 tier (I talked her out of 3) cake, covered in fondant. She spent an entire Saturday afternoon on Pinterest & Google Images deciding on the perfect cake. We were so blessed to have the most amazing cake baker. She really listened to my soon to be four-year-old. She treated her like a VIP client & I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. Most people don't understand how much of a vision my little one has.
We decided to set up a popcorn bar in honor of the birthday girl's favorite snack. Guests had the choice of caramel, kettle corn, butter flavor or white cheddar. They scooped their popcorn into their very own doily cone.
For the favors, each child got their own set of cat ears & each guests left with a miniature cupcake.
My little girl had such an amazing time & I would do all the hard work again in a heartbeat! She is so blessed to have amazing friends & family. Happy birthday Rylie!
