Retro Beach Inspired Ice Cream Social

It was teacher appreciation week at my daughter's school  & I was more than willing to volunteer to set up an ice cream social for the staff. This year was a beach theme. With Teen Beach Movie 2 coming out soon, I kept thinking of how cute the 60s beach scene was. I decided to go with a retro feel. With it being summer, it was so easy to find little pieces of décor at the dollar store. I made two pinats for décor & set up ice cream in tins of ice. I also served a variety of candies. Let's be honest, I can't stick with just one dessert; the more, the better!

The teachers all seemed so appreciative & touched! It was such a pleasure to give back to the people that take such special care of my little one.

Ballerina Party

This past weekend was my girl's ballet recital. She has been working all year on her routine, so I thought it was very important to celebrate after.

I made this cake with the Wilton cupcake pan. I poured melted candy melts into the bottom & let it sit in the fridge for a couple hours. I then baked the cake as usual & popped it into the mold. I got so many compliments on it & it was SO easy, it was foolproof!

We also has animal crackers, gingersnaps, sugar wafers, & marshmallow pops. I served popcorn in the cupcake cups.

Congratulations Rylie! I am so proud of all your hard work!
This party was completely DIY

Budget Easter Inspired Party for under $30!

This Easter inspired party was inspired by the Peter Rabbit stories. We wanted the tables to feel like they were inside Mr. McGregor's garden. We utilized fresh vegetables & old books for the décor.

For dessert, we served miniature brownies, cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, chocolate bunny pops & farm animals lollipops.

For the snacks, we served fresh green beans, carrot sticks with ranch dressing & celery sticks with peanut butter.

We were able to put this entire party together for under $30.

  • Chocolate bunny pops ($4 at the dollar tree)
  • Farm animal lollipops ($1 at the dollar tree)
  • Miniature browniez ($3 at Publix)
  • Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting ($4 at Publix)
  • Misc. vegetables ($7 at the farmers market)
  • Flowers ( $10 at Publix)
The rest of the décor, we already had. If you're interested in finding out where any of these things came from, feel free to comment below!
